ANGUS

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 14 months

ANGUS is an elderly dog who is looking for a home in the autumn of his life. And maybe that's just how it was meant to be - because when he came to us, he looked like he had known mainly hard ground, a shed and loneliness for many years. Today, fate gives him a chance for something completely different: a warm bed, quiet walks and a person by whom he can simply rest. He is an extremely calm, balanced and gentle old dog. ANGUS is not one of those dogs who demand constant attention. He is one of those who brings peace, warmth and a sense of security into the home with his presence. Just lying somewhere close to a person, letting out a soft sigh, and you already know he is happy. He really likes walks - it's an important moment of his day. He can calmly march, sniff, enjoy the surroundings and stay close to his caregiver. On walks he behaves impeccably: he is polite, doesn't cause problems and walks beautifully. He is a true gentleman on four legs. At home, ANGUS is problem-free. He can keep himself clean, finds his way well in the daily routine and spends most of his time doing what seniors love the most - sleeping, resting and warming up in his place. One could say he is an expert in relaxation and home peace. He weighs about 20 kg, has short white and black fur and that unique, wise muzzle, in which the entire story of his life is written. He is a dog who no longer needs to prove anything. He just wants to be loved. ANGUS is hard of hearing or hears very little, but manages well on a daily basis. Seniors like him often teach us something important - that closeness does not always need sounds. Sometimes it is enough to be present, a calm look and a warm hand on his back. We are looking for a peaceful, warm and loving home for him. One where someone will appreciate his gentleness, calmness and great goodness that he has inside. Give Angus the most beautiful autumn of his life. He really deserves it.

PL·Show original

To niezwykle spokojny, zrównoważony i łagodny psi staruszek. On jest z tych, którzy swoją obecnością wnoszą do domu spokój, ciepło i poczucie bezpieczeństwa. On naprawdę na to zasłużył.

About ANGUS

What life with ANGUS looks like

ANGUS is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting ANGUS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ANGUS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ANGUS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ANGUS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ANGUS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ANGUS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know ANGUS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
