Anna

Poodle · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Two beautiful female King Pudels, Anna and Elsa, are looking for their forever homes. Their names were inspired by a special fairy tale. But can they really be little ice queens? You'll have to find out for yourself! We were born in a litter of seven King Pudels. Five of our siblings have already found their new homes. Now it's time for us to find our humans. King Pudels are known for being intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented. They don't just want to be around, they want to experience life with their humans, learn, and have fun. That's what we're working on right now: the big dog-human multiplication table! Because let's face it, we don't know much yet. Housebreaking, leash training, basic commands, and all the other things that are important for a harmonious life together, we need to learn. But we bring something very important with us: curiosity and a love of learning. We look very similar. To help our caregivers and walkers tell us apart, we wear different colored collars. But anyone who gets to know us better will quickly recognize their own favorite ice princess. We're looking for people who are happy to show two young dogs the world and accompany them lovingly, patiently, and consistently. A little dog experience would be helpful. After all, we have not only a lot of Pudel power, but also a clever head that wants to be challenged. And who knows: Maybe our fairy tale names will soon become our very own story - a story of two sisters who waited in the shelter for their humans and finally got their own happy ending. Because like in the fairy tale, only true love counts. We look forward to getting to know you! Maybe the ice will melt at the first meeting. ❄️🤍 Animal adoptions are currently by appointment only. If you're interested in one of our animals, please contact us in advance by phone at 05481 / 4146 or by email.

About Anna

What life with Anna looks like

Anna is a large puppy poodle dog waiting at Tierheim Tecklenburger Land in Lengerich.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tecklenburger Land handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tecklenburger Land will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Anna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tecklenburger Land early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
