Annie

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Annie is a beautiful female dog, approximately 3 years old, with brown and white fur, delicate freckles, and a gentle, trusting gaze that goes straight to the heart. With a shoulder height of around 55–60 cm and weighing about 35 kg, she belongs to the larger breeds of dogs—but her nature is thoroughly sensitive and loving. Her life changed in an instant: living together with her three puppies and another dog in the small village of Bologa, Annie found herself in a completely different situation after her owner passed away. The heirs could not keep the dogs because the house had to be sold. So, Annie and her small family found shelter with our animal rescuers. Annie shows herself to be an exceptionally friendly and people-oriented female dog. She greatly enjoys the company of her people and is delighted with any attention. With her calm demeanor, she meets her environment openly, gently, and balanced. Due to her appearance, a part of her could be a herding dog. Herding dogs were originally bred to work independently, to guard their territory, and to protect their trusted people. This means they often bring a certain independence, vigilance, and decision-making spirit. Currently, with Annie, we mainly see her calm, sovereign nature—she is attentive but always friendly and approachable. However, we would like to find a home for Annie with people who are willing to explore the characteristics of herding dogs or ideally already have experience with them. Important are a loving, clear handling, patience, and an environment where she is not constantly under stress or exposed to too many stimuli. We cannot yet say how she behaves towards cats. With her balanced character, Annie would be a wonderful companion for people who can give her a loving and safe home—a place where she can finally arrive, gain trust, and discover the beautiful sides of life. For Annie, we would like to find a home that is fitting for her size and her potential—ideally in a rural setting with a house and garden where she can find enough space, peace, and security. A securely fenced garden would be particularly important. Annie is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive health check. Have you fallen in love with the wonderful Annie? 💛 Thank you to Kathi, who gave Annie her name. Thank you to Janine Z. for her monthly sponsorship of Annie. As of: 16.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 25.07.2026

About Annie

What life with Annie looks like

Annie is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Annie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Annie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Annie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Annie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Annie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Annie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Annie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
