male mixed breed Born ca. 2021 Surrendered neutered [x] yes / [] no Adopted into the animal shelter since 17.04.2026 ________________________ Anton have taken in from the animal shelter Gießen to relieve the dog station, after they had helped us with cat and rabbit emergencies. Originally, Anton comes from the Romanian animal welfare. The short-legged mixed breed is in a good mood, people-oriented, and very clingy. He shows curiosity, is cuddly, has a small ego, and is also quite alert and self-assured in his environment. Anton is generally suitable as a family dog and for engaged (re-)beginners. Especially important for Anton is the topic of food, he is not only very greedy but also shows food envy, which should be taken into account in the new home—also that he does not gain excess weight, which would harm his joints. Anton likes to go for walks and does so very well. He is happy to be addressed by his person and to share activities. Generally, he should still learn a lot about living together and everyday life with people and be given clear structures. With other dogs, especially sovereign female dogs, Anton is generally well compatible, but we have the impression that he would be happier as a single dog. We do not see him in a home with cats. He obviously has very short legs for his body length and format, so special attention should be paid to the health of his joints in the new home, as would be the case with a Corgi. männlich Mischling Geboren ca. 2021 Abgabetier Kastriert ja / [] nein Im Tierheim seit 17.04.2026 ________________________ Anton haben wir aus dem Tierheim Gießen übernommen um die Hundestation zu entlasten, nachdem sie uns mit Katzen- und Kaninchennotfällen ausgeholfen hatten. Ursprünglich kommt Anton aus dem rumänischen Auslandstierschutz. Der kurzbeinige Mischling ist gut gelaunt, menschenbezogen und sehr anhänglich. Er zeigt sich neugierig, verschmust, hat einen kleinen Dickkopf und ist auch durchaus wachsam und selbstbewusst in seiner Umwelt unterwegs. Anton eignet sich grundsätzlich als Familienhund und für engagierte (Wieder-) Einsteiger. Besonders wichtig ist Anton das Thema Futter, er ist nicht nur sehr verfressen, sondern zeigt auch Futterneid, dies sollte im neuen Zuhause unbedingt berücksichtigt werden – auch, dass er kein Übergewicht bekommt, was seinen Gelenken schaden würde. Anton geht gerne spazieren und macht sich dabei sehr gut. Er freut sich über Ansprache durch seinen Menschen und gemeinsame Unternehmungen. Generell sollte er im Zusammenleben und Alltag mit Menschen noch einiges dazulernen und klare Strukturen vorgegeben bekommen. Mit anderen Hunden, besonders souveränen Hündinnen, ist Anton generell gut verträglich, wir haben aber den Eindruck, dass er als Einzelhund glücklicher wäre. Wir sehen ihn leider nicht in einem Zuhause mit Katzen. Er hat offensichtlich sehr kurze Beine für seine Körperlänge und sein Format, es sollte im neuen Zuhause also besonders auf die Gesundheit seiner Gelenke geachtet werden, wie es z.B. auch bei einem Corgi der Fall wäre. Wir wünschen Anton, dass er bald ein liebevolles Zuhause findet, das Freude daran hat, mit ihm viel Zeit zu verbringen, ihm Orientierung zu geben und ihm einen Leben lang zu begleiten! ________________________ (Stand 29.04.2026) (Bilder anklicken um sie in voller Größe zu sehen!)
