Antonella

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Antonella, a Mioritic mix, is sure to capture the hearts of those who love her breed. She is a lovable, fluffy, white "bear" who is very affectionate, attached, social, and friendly to her human companions. She is a dog full of energy and joy. She loves to play and romp. With other dogs, she is playful and social, but also likes to show her dominant side. This reveals her typical Mioritic characteristics: calm, loving, balanced, loyal to her people, and watchful, brave, and confident when it comes to guarding her property/living space. Experience with herding or livestock guardian dogs would be an advantage. A fair, loving, and consistent leadership will be important for her to enjoy a wonderful, pleasant, and cooperative life together. As a herding dog, she needs a task - such as guarding her garden - and plenty of exercise; only then will she be a happy dog. A home with a fenced yard in a rural setting is suitable for her, as well as walks in nature with her people. Initially, she needs to learn to walk on a leash. As an intelligent dog who loves people, she will learn it with love, patience, consistency, and training...as well as many other things that are part of everyday life in a new living environment. Antonella was found in a very sad, desolate environment: a truck parking lot. There, she had retreated to the protection of stored truck tires and had just given birth to nine puppies. Initially, they brought her a doghouse for protection, but when it became too cold, wet, and windy, the animal rescuers took her and her puppies into the care of the animal shelter. It is not known whether Antonella ever had a home or if she was left to fend for herself.

About Antonella

What life with Antonella looks like

Antonella is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Antonella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Antonella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Antonella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Antonella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Antonella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Antonella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Antonella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
