adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Antonia has found its home! Her story: The attention of a loving lady saved Kim, Nicky, Antonia, Basel, and Lollipop. The woman regularly fed "Morla," the mother of the 5 puppies. She noticed that Morla had swollen teats and suspected that she had given birth and the puppies must be hidden nearby. She went on a search and found the 5 in a defective fountain. Morla had raised them as best she could. The lady contacted our local helpers immediately, and the young family was brought to safety. The little ones are now big enough and can make their way into their Forever Families. Antonia is our little sunbeam. Her cheerful and curious nature brings a smile to everyone's face. Antonia loves to explore the world, whether playing or simply observing her surroundings. She wishes she had more opportunities to do so. She is open and people-oriented. Antonia finds both the people and the other dogs wonderful and always shows friendliness and a desire to make contact. Her playful nature and joy in cuddling make her a perfect family dog. We are quite sure that Antonia will quickly feel at home in her new family and bring them a lot of joy. Antonia is currently around 3.5 months old and will grow to be small to max. medium-sized. Her mother Morla is only 30 cm tall. Her new family should also be aware that Antonia still does not know the life in a loving family. She must still learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of her. Here she needs people who approach with much love and patience, and possibly also attend some positively working dog training classes with her and forgive her one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to her. During puberty, she will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even "forget" some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Antonia will definitely be a great lifelong partner. We hope very much that she now gets to experience the beautiful sides of life and learns that there are people who only want her best. Antonia is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. We would also be very happy to have a sweet mouse in a foster home! Who will give her a loving Forever Home? Many thanks, Aleksis! You named Antonia. Status: 10.06.

Vielen Dank Aleksis! Du hast Antonia ihren Namen geschenkt. About Antonia

What life with Antonia looks like

Antonia is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Antonia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Antonia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Antonia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Antonia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Antonia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Antonia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Antonia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
