adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Antonia has found her home! Her story: Antonia enchants immediately with her gentle gaze, black mask, and friendly smile. She is approximately 6 months old and was found on the street with her two siblings without a mother. Despite this tough start, she is absolutely friendly and open with people. She runs right up, seeks closeness, gives kisses, and enjoys every pat. She is a typical young pup – playful, curious, and full of energy. She also gets along well with other dogs. Currently, she measures about 40 centimeters at the shoulder and weighs around 10 kilograms. With that, she will likely be a medium-sized dog. Her silky, cream-white fur with gray-brown markings and the fluffy ears suggest that she might be a German Shepherd mix – perhaps with a hint of Collie or Caucasian. Since we cannot rule out that she might be a herding or livestock guardian dog, her future owners should inform themselves about these breeds. She requires competent and reliable leadership and should be allowed to engage in activities like fetch and retrieve, agility, or similar to prevent underexertion and related problems. Positive dog training classes can be helpful. She should also be allowed to learn the dog ABCs in peace with her new companions. Antonia is ready to make the journey into a new life. Do you want to be by her side? She travels fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. Due to her young age, she is not yet spayed. For travel arrangements, she will bring her EU pet passport. Stand: 17.10. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Stand: 17.10.2025

About Antonia

What life with Antonia looks like

Antonia is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Antonia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Antonia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Antonia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Antonia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Antonia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Antonia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Antonia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
