Archer🏹 Meet Archer, our very own heart-stealing hero who is always ready to take aim and land straight in the centre of your world. This ultimate cuddle monster does not just win hearts, he shoots right through them with his endless charm and affection. Archer is bursting with energy and love, and he never misses his mark when it comes to showing his favourite humans just how much he cares. He greets us with his signature jumpy up cuddles and a shower of kisses, like little arrows of love flying in every direction. Once you have experienced one of his embraces, you will feel as though you have been chosen as the lucky target of his devotion. The first time I met him, he greeted me like a long-lost friend, practically leaping into my arms as if he had been waiting his whole life for that moment. He kissed my face nonstop, and I remember thinking this boy is the true definition of a love bug. The way he looks at us is filled with admiration and trust, like he has decided we are his people, and he is ready to guard our hearts forever. Archer truly is one of a kind, with a personality that feels written in the stars, almost like he has stepped straight out of a love song.Archer is confident, affectionate, and full of character. He loves deeply and without hesitation, and when he chooses you, you will feel like the most important person in the world. He has captured every heart here at Clarks Farm and well and truly stolen the show, as if he has drawn back his bow and claimed us all. His larger-than-life personality is fun-loving and silly, guaranteed to make you laugh even on the hardest days. Beneath that playful spark lies a beautifully sensitive soul who feels everything deeply and forms strong, meaningful bonds with the people he trusts. When Archer realises you are ready for one of his famous cuddle sessions, his whole face lights up, and his excitement is impossible to resist. Life with him will be full of warmth, laughter, and endless affection. He radiates light and love wherever he goes, like a bright arrow of sunshine cutting through even the darkest clouds. He is gentle, caring, and endlessly kind, with a heart as big as they come. From the moment you meet him, you are completely captivated by his sweet soul and playful spark. He is such a people-motivated boy who wants to be involved in everything you do. Whether you are heading out on an adventure, pottering around at home, or simply sitting down for a quiet moment, Archer will be right there beside you. He loves his toys, enjoys his walks, and carries himself with the confidence of a hound who knows he is meant for something special. He is cheeky and unapologetically himself, and that is exactly what makes him so wonderful.Every morning, greeted by his enthusiasm, feels like the perfect start to the day. He makes you smile without even trying, simply by being the joyful, loving boy he is. Archer has so much to offer and so much love to give. Anyone lucky enough to welcome him home will soon realise that he is not just a dog, he is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime companion who takes aim at your heart and never lets go.Archer has settled into life here at Clarks Farm as though he has always belonged, like he has already found his target and landed right in the heart of our family. He is incredibly well-behaved in his kennel, truly an angel boy, and every second of getting to know him has been a joy. From the moment he stepped off that van, he seemed to draw back his bow and win over every single person in sight. He is such a confident and outgoing boy when it comes to humans, the kind of dog who can make friends wherever he goes and leave a trail of smiles behind him. Archer brings light into everyone’s lives, like a bright arrow of sunshine cutting through even the darkest day. His affectionate nature means he has a way of making everyone feel chosen, special, and completely adored. His personality is larger than life, and he absolutely knows how to make an impression, always hitting the centre of attention in the loveliest way.Archer has had a few female kennel mates during his time with us and has always got along with them beautifully. His friendly nature extends to his fellow greyhounds just as much as it does to us humans, and he is more than happy to share his space. I truly think he enjoys having a cuddle buddy when we are not around. He would happily live with a female greyhound or two in his forever home, having a playmate to share his days with. That said, Archer is very people-motivated and is at his happiest when he is by our side, so being the only hound in the home and soaking up all the love would be heaven for him. Whether he is part of a little pack or the shining star of the household, he will settle well as long as he has his humans close.Archer would happily live with older, dog-savvy children who understand greyhounds, especially boys who can be a little unaware of their long legs. He loves humans of all shapes and sizes, and I know family life would suit him wonderfully. He is playful and full of energy, so children in the home should be confident and used to greyhounds, allowing Archer to be his joyful, affectionate self. He would also thrive in an adult-only home where he can be the baby of the family and receive all the fuss and cuddles his big heart desires. If you are looking for an over-the-top love bug with all the typical soppy male greyhound traits, Archer truly takes aim as the perfect choice. Now I know you may be wondering why this sweetheart is marked as a Red dog. It is simply because Archer has not yet passed his dog test with us, and I want to be honest about that. We are working closely with him alongside Blossom, but he is very much a work in progress. When he sees Blossom, he becomes vocal and can lunge, spin, and struggle to break focus. His stress bucket fills quickly at the moment, and he finds it hard to understand that Blossom is in fact, a dog. Right now, it is about slowly building his confidence, allowing Blossom to come closer without him reacting. Blossom has been wonderful with him, so patient and steady, almost like she knows he just needs time to steady his aim. This challenge is such a small part of who Archer is, but I know it is the part that may mean he waits a little longer for his forever home. If you can look past the training he needs with other breeds, you will be adopting the most amazing best friend. Inside the home, I know he will be perfect. Outside the home, he will need continued training and support, but he will get there. He just needs someone who sees the loving, affectionate boy behind the struggle and is willing to guide him with patience and care. We will keep working with him until his forever family comes along, and I truly believe he will make incredible progress.Archer has a heart of gold, a caring soul, and so much companionship to offer. He is deeply loved here, and we know he needs a special home with special humans who are ready to match his devotion. His forever family have no idea how lucky they will be to call him their best friend, because life with Archer will be brighter, warmer, and filled with love that hits straight at the heart.Whoever chooses Archer will not just be adopting a dog, they will be stepping into a story where love always finds its mark. Let this sweet boy draw back his bow one last time and shoot straight into your forever, because once Archer takes aim at your heart, he never misses. About Archer

What life with Archer looks like

Archer is a large young adult greyhound dog waiting at Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Archer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Archer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Archer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Archer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Archer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Archer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Archer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
