Archie

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 12 years

Adorable Archie is a very small, traditional Staffordshire Bull Terrier boy who just wants to snuggle with you. He was taken in by All Animals Rescue and Rehome and is fostered in Thurrock, Essex, when he was left unclaimed in the pound. Although his owner was later tracked down, it was decided he was best finding a new home to live out the rest of his days in. Archie is 10 – 12 years old and is very dinky, weighing only 19kg. He is a lovely, gentle, older lad that doesn't ask for much at all: food in his belly, a soft bed to sleep, a small potter around the block or garden and cuddles. Archie has torn both cruciate ligaments at some point in his life and this doesn't appear to have been treated so he is arthritic, which is to be expected given he is older. Archie is without a doubt the sweetest little old boy. He is not giddy or bouncy, he is very happy to plod around and loves sleeping on his bed though he loves his carer's even more and, with a face and smile like his, it's very hard to say no! He can be a bit whingey as is typical of the Staffy, when he wants something or is excited, but he does stop when you tell him to, and it's usually dinner or wee time! Archie is perfectly clean in the house, is not destructive and can be left for short periods without any problems. He walks well on the lead and is an absolute pleasure in every way. Archie is fine with other dogs and is currently being fostered with other dogs of all shapes and sizes and loves them all. He is also good with children, but it's not known if he could live with a cat. Archie travels perfectly, in fact he just wants to curl up in comfort and sleep. He is a very undemanding little guy that would make a fantastic addition to any home; he is the sweetest most adorable little snuggle bug you will ever meet. All he wants is to curl up with you for cuddles! Whatever love you give will be returned ten-fold by this little gent. Archie is castrated and had a lump removed from his chin. He is flea/worm treated and microchipped. He also had his teeth cleaned and didn't need any extractions. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you have room in your home and heart for beautiful Archie, please contact All Animals Rescue and Rehome below: Email: for more information or a Pre-Adoption form. About Archie

What life with Archie looks like

Archie is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Archie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Archie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Archie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Archie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Archie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Archie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Archie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
