Arko is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd who is looking for someone to help him feel safe. He is a sensitive boy who needs time to fully trust people. Unexpected or sudden movements can make him uncertain. He needs to be able to discover that he is safe at his own pace. Arko gets along with smaller dogs. However, he finds the outside world quite exciting during walks. Passing cars and cyclists make him uncertain. When the tension becomes too high, he may react by barking and snapping. We are looking for someone who looks beyond this behavior and understands where it comes from. He needs a safe and strong bond with his new owner in the first instance. From there, he can work calmly on his insecurities and his owner can teach him that a passing bike or car is not so threatening. We are looking for a quiet home for him with someone who does not overwhelm him, but can offer clarity, predictability and positive guidance. Experience with insecure dogs or shepherds is certainly an added value. Arko may not be the dog with whom you can go carefree everywhere from day one. But for someone who is willing to work with him and first build a solid foundation of trust, he can become a fantastic companion. WE HEBBEN EEN KANDIDAAT GEVONDEN 🐾 Arko zoekt iemand bij wie hij zich veilig mag leren voelen 🐾 Maak kennis met Arko, een prachtige Australische herder van 4 jaar. Arko is een gevoelige jongen die wat tijd nodig heeft om mensen volledig te vertrouwen. Vooral onverwachte of bruuske bewegingen kunnen hem onzeker maken. Bij hem moet vertrouwen rustig groeien en is het belangrijk dat hij zelf de kans krijgt om te ontdekken dat hij veilig is. Met kleinere honden kan Arko overweg. Tijdens wandelingen zien we echter dat de buitenwereld voor hem nog behoorlijk spannend is. Voorbijrijdende auto's en fietsers maken hem onzeker. Wanneer de spanning te hoog oploopt, kan hij hierop reageren door te blaffen en uit te halen. Voor Arko zoeken we daarom iemand die verder kijkt dan dit gedrag en begrijpt waar het vandaan komt. Hij heeft in eerste instantie nood aan een veilige en sterke vertrouwensband met zijn nieuwe eigenaar. Van daaruit kan er rustig gewerkt worden aan zijn onzekerheden en kan zijn baasje hem leren dat een voorbijrijdende fiets of auto helemaal niet zo bedreigend hoeft te zijn.
