Arnold

French Bulldog · Male · Senior · 9 years

Hello, my name is Arnold. Due to a death in my family, I had to sadly move in with my friend Enzo to our shelter. I am a very friendly, open, and laid-back guy. I enjoy relaxed walks and cuddles a lot. With other dogs, I am generally compatible by sympathy, but we can certainly look at whether I like cats individually. I also know children, but they should already be a bit bigger in the household. Health-wise, I have the typical brachycephalic syndrome, as well as a bite and a lid malformation. It is also to be expected due to my breed that I will sooner or later experience pain and problems in my musculoskeletal system. I am looking for a comfortable home with people who already have some dog experience. An older dog can certainly live with you if you want. If you would like to meet me, please get in touch!

Dein Arnold

About Arnold

What life with Arnold looks like

Arnold is a small senior french bulldog dog waiting at Tierschutzverein St. Pölten in St. Pölten.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Brachycephalic syndrome, overbite, eyelid malformation, potential future mobility issues due to breed predisposition

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arnold, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arnold?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein St. Pölten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arnold on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arnold if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein St. Pölten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arnold already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arnold isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein St. Pölten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arnold and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
