Aron

Male · Adult · 4 years

Aron came to the animal shelter as a one-year-old dog due to his owner's illness. Since then, many long years have passed and he still hasn't found a home... With a heavy heart, we watch as he wastes the best years of his young life in confinement. Aronek was initially very frightened, unwilling to leave his crate even at the prospect of a walk. Over time, however, this has changed and he now looks forward to a walk, especially if one of his favorite suns, the shelter's companions, is with him. This has shown us that in a future home, Aronek would benefit from the company of a stable, balanced sun who will encourage him, show him that the surrounding world is not a bad place, and that it's worth opening up to it. Aronek still needs time to trust new people in his environment, but he has made some progress in this area. He feels best on the shelter's run, where he can express dog joy and freely run around, or in other places that he knows well and where he feels safe... From Aronek's future caregiver, we expect not only to wisely introduce him to the world, but also to be willing to work with the dog, to dedicate time to training, which will result in building a good relationship and help the guy gain confidence. Due to Aronek's fearfulness, his future home should be a quiet place, away from the noise. Our bachelor would also find it difficult to get oriented in a place where there are small children.

PL·Show original

About Aron

What life with Aron looks like

Aron is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Fearful dog requiring patient rehabilitation and quiet environment

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aron, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aron?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aron on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aron if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aron already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aron isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aron and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
