Adopt Arthur-16819

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Arthur is 10 years old and has EC (E Cuniculi), which appeared some time ago and was very severe for a while. It is now fairly under control, but he will need occasional medication, especially for mating and moving to a new home. When placing him, we will provide some medication to support him. We cannot predict how long he will live, but Arthur is a weak rabbit, so it is possible that he may not have much time left. That is why we have "SPOED" because we want to give him a nice home before he passes away in the shelter. Who has experience with E Cuniculi and would like to care for this bunny for a while? Normally, we always want a companion for a rabbit, and it would be best if you have a female who also does not have much time left. Arthur can be placed with someone who can take care of him and spoil him a bit, as we would like to give him that. Mail us for discussion... We will only place Arthur in a calm family without too many stress factors, as he cannot handle that, even inside. Who can give this lovely guy a few more beautiful weeks or months?

Read original (nl)

About Arthur-16819

What life with Arthur-16819 looks like

Arthur-16819 is a senior mixed breed rabbit waiting at Flappus in Netherlands.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arthur-16819, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arthur-16819?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Flappus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arthur-16819 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arthur-16819 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Flappus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arthur-16819 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arthur-16819 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Flappus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arthur-16819 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
