Adopt Arya

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Arya has been at the animal shelter for almost three years. She arrived as a young dog, and no one has chosen her yet. Despite this, this black female dog is anything but unremarkable—when you look closely. Her dark eyes shine warmly, her fur gleams in the sun, and when you approach, she comes running with a wagging tail. Friendly, playful, open. Unfortunately, Arya has grown up in a large animal shelter. She came there as a baby and has been waiting ever since for her chance to finally have her own family. At this location of the animal shelter ASPA, there are approximately 1200 dogs. There simply isn't much time to show the dogs the world and prepare them for life in a family. Therefore, Arya unfortunately knows nothing but the dreary shelter routine. Arya lives in a yard with several other dogs, with whom she gets along well. She is happy when she gets human attention and runs up joyfully. She is still very cautious and reserved in many situations because she simply doesn't know how to receive attention. For her, a sovereign only dog would be ideal. But even without an only dog, she will surely be a great companion with patience and motivation. Although Arya is no longer a puppy, she is in the best age, healthy, and neutered. She doesn't need luxury or grand promises. She just needs someone who will finally stop and give her a home. Please sign up for this wonderful female dog. Then she can pack her bags and head home soon. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Arya

What life with Arya looks like

Arya is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
