Aster

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 3 months

Aster: Discreet, yes... forgotten, never! Arrived at the shelter at just 3 months, alongside Asphodèle, Aster is now one year old. And our pretty tabby has grown well! On the terrace, she has found her favorite spot: a shelf that has become her little headquarters. From up there, she quietly observes the life of the shelter and keeps a watchful eye on what's happening around her. But when socialization sessions begin, no question of staying a mere spectator! Aster darts onto her shelf, gets our attention, and makes sure no one forgets her in the distribution of treats. And if we pretend not to see her? Here she comes, leaving her perch to come to our meeting, still a bit shy, but determined to claim her share! Shy, yes. Invisible, certainly not! These small initiatives testify to Aster's progress. Slowly, but surely, she gains confidence. Today, we can touch her. Caresses, they will have to wait a bit longer, but every progress is a pretty victory. Behind her reserve, a little sweet, curious and more participative kitten reveals herself than she would like to let on. Aster is looking for a patient family, ready to give her time to find her bearings and continue her progress at her own pace. She doesn't have all the keys to feel completely at ease with humans yet, but she shows us every day that she wants to try. And if her future family offered her a shelf with a view of a new life? I'm waiting for you at the shelter for a tender meeting. Together, we could form a great team! About Aster

What life with Aster looks like

Aster is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Anim'toit in Prinquiau.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aster, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aster?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Anim'toit handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aster on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aster if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Anim'toit will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aster already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aster isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Anim'toit early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aster and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
