Astons Geschichte beginnt wie so viele Geschichten der unzähligen Jagdhunde in Spanien. Er wurde zusammen mit mehreren anderen Hunden aus sehr schlechter Haltung befreit und kam ins Tierheim der nordspanischen KollegInnen. Verständlicherweise zeigte er sich dort sehr ängstlich und vermied jeglichen Kontakt zu Menschen. Da er sich schnell an die Abläufe und Routinen im Tierheim gewöhnte und dadurch kaum noch Fortschritte in Bezug auf Menschen machte, zog er in eine spanische Tierpension um. Hier wird seither gezielt mit ihm gearbeitet und er macht gute Fortschritte. Er hält menschliche Nähe inzwischen sehr gut aus und zeigt sich häufig eher neugierig und interessiert.
