Adopt ASY

Mixed Breed · Female

Our lovely ASY has been waiting for her people and her own home for a long time already. It's hard to believe that no one has discovered her yet and her unique charm. We know that adult large dogs are a hard-to-adopt category of dogs, but ASY shouldn't have to spend her life in an animal shelter. ASY is an active and dynamic beauty of the Central Asian Shepherd breed. Unfortunately, no matter how much time we have dedicated at Rescue to our big beauty, it is certainly not enough for her because she needs space and time to run and enjoy herself. Due to her larger build, we do not recommend her for families with small children. Definitely, ASY needs time and patience to learn the rules of behavior and etiquette for living in a family. We recommend a dog training class or a socialization course so that ASY can master everything needed for a permanent home. ASY could find her happiness in singles, pairs, or even families with older children. A house with a yard would be an excellent choice for this big girl due to her working dog genes. If you want to give this big and irresistible canine lady a life of freedom and lots of love in return, contact us quickly! She was born in 2019 and is 68cm tall. Microchip number: 191035000094391.

About ASY

What life with ASY looks like

ASY is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Udruga Spas Varaždin in Varaždin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇷Adopting from Croatia

Croatian shelters include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID in the adoption process. Several work with Italian and German rescue networks for placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting ASY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ASY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Udruga Spas Varaždin handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ASY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ASY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Udruga Spas Varaždin will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ASY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ASY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Udruga Spas Varaždin early rather than rehoming privately; they know ASY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
