Atlas

Mixed Breed · Male · 2 years

It's impossible not to fall in love with this adorable and playful puppy named Atlas. Just by seeing us, he greets us with kisses all over our faces. Atlas arrived here recently along with other dogs, where they lived in a field without any contact with people or other dogs. Considering this, he is an extremely sociable dog with people, and he loves being surrounded by our company. He is also sociable with other dogs, although he is a bit shy around dogs he doesn't know. He is an active dog, enjoying running and playing in the yard with his companions, just like he loves the cuddles and attention we give him. When it comes to walking, he is a bit scared, one could say he doesn't know what walking is, but without realizing it, he walks wonderfully, going alongside you without pulling and gradually gaining confidence in his surroundings. He lets himself be handled without a problem, putting on the leash, giving him treatments, brushing him... What more could we ask for? An active and family-oriented home would be ideal for Atlas. If you like going on hikes and visiting many places for walks, don't hesitate to write for him.

Escribe a

About Atlas

What life with Atlas looks like

Atlas is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Malaga in Málaga.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs patient introduction to walking and new environments

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Atlas, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Atlas?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Malaga handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Atlas on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Atlas if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Malaga will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Atlas already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Atlas isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Malaga early rather than rehoming privately; they know Atlas and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
