ATOS

Mixed Breed · Unknown

ATOS is just a one-year-old Siberian husky. He came to us following multiple reports—25 square meters. A family of four children. AND HE – a large Siberian husky. This dog has huge needs—exercise, attention, and contact with people. He was getting food, but it was simply not enough for his capabilities. Not enough walks. Not enough time. Not enough life. Today, ATOS is already under our care and starting a new chapter. He is gentle and calm, very well disposed towards people, seeking contact and closeness. ATOS needs a conscious, responsible home. We are looking for a place where he will be treated as a family member. Where someone will finally have time for him.

Atos to zaledwie roczny pies w typie tosa inu. Trafił do nas po interwencji — po licznych zgłoszeniach. 25 metrów kwadratowych. Czwórka dzieci. I ON – duży pies w typie tosa inu.

About ATOS

What life with ATOS looks like

ATOS is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie in Gniezno.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting ATOS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ATOS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ATOS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ATOS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ATOS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ATOS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Gnieźnie early rather than rehoming privately; they know ATOS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
