Auggie

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

The curious lad with a soft side Auggie grew up with a young woman who had recently moved out of the family home and was finding it increasingly difficult to give him the time and attention he needed as he grew from a kitten into an adult cat. He loves cuddles and is very affectionate, but he also enjoys running around and doing his own thing. Initially, settling into a new environment was a little challenging for Auggie. He was not used to being somewhere new, living with a male fosterer or sharing his space with two resident cats, Ninja and Angel, a brother-and-sister duo. However, he adapted quickly and mastered the household’s feeding routine within just a few days! At first, Auggie was a little hesitant when his fosterer tried to stroke him, so he was given plenty of space and time to settle in. While his fosterer was away for a week, the fosterer’s sister looked after Auggie and the two resident cats. Every day, the fosterer received photos of Auggie snuggling up with his sister, leading him to wonder whether Auggie might feel a little more comfortable around women. Since then, however, Auggie has really started to come out of his shell. A couple of weeks ago, the fosterer woke up from an afternoon nap to find Auggie curled up against his legs, fast asleep. Auggie now sometimes approaches his fosterer for a gentle stroke and a little attention, even if he does not stay for long. These lovely little moments show just how much his confidence has grown and is a reminder that patience, kindness and letting a cat set the pace can make all the difference. Auggie has also been recovering from a rash on his nose, which has almost completely healed following a visit to the vet. As he has become more settled, his cheeky side has begun to emerge! He sometimes tries to sneak some of Ninja’s food before Ninja reminds him whose dinner it is. The two enjoy a good play-fight and get along well. Auggie’s happily ever after Auggie would thrive in a relaxed home where he has plenty of interesting places to inspect, explore and investigate. He enjoys being around other cats while also being perfectly happy in his own company. With a carefully managed, gradual introduction, Auggie could share a home with an equally friendly and playful resident cat. He is generally quiet and content to entertain himself, although mealtimes are another matter! When food is involved, Auggie will be right by your side, using his big golden eyes and slender frame to convince you that he definitely deserves just one more snack. With his curious nature, growing confidence and affectionate streak, Auggie is a lovely young cat who will reward a patient adopter with plenty of sweet and entertaining moments. About Auggie

What life with Auggie looks like

Auggie is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Feline Friends London in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Auggie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Auggie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Feline Friends London handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Auggie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Auggie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Feline Friends London will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Auggie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Auggie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Feline Friends London early rather than rehoming privately; they know Auggie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
