Adopt Aurora D

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Profile Age: Approximately born in February 2025. Gender: Female. Neutered: YesCharacter: Quiet, friendly, gets along well with fellow animalsSize:约35厘米Since at our shelter: August 2025 Siblings: Gratia, Sebastian, Nevio, Ivo and Vega & (Minerva – already adopted) Hello, I am one of seven dog siblings who ended up together at the shelter. Before this, we were simply abandoned by our owners near the shelter where fortunately, the shelter staff found us and took us in. As they say, there is room even in the smallest cottage. For us, it was a great fortune that we are now safe here. However, our mother still lives out there as she is very fearful and has not yet been caught. We miss her a lot and sincerely hope that she is doing well and can follow us here someday. While it is wonderful not to have to live on the streets anymore – the shelter is not a home. Here we share our daily life with many other dogs, play with each other, and observe the people around us. Each of us carries the same dream in our hearts: to no longer be just one of many but something special – loved, welcome, and part of a family. I am a friendly female dog with snow-white fur adorned with beautiful brown-red spots and patches. I am rather calm compared to some of my siblings, but also quite brave and exceptionally curious. I only need a short moment to gain trust from strangers – a soft word, a gentle gesture, and I start to open my heart. So if you give me time, patience, and loving companionship, I will soon feel secure in a new home and show my gentle, cheerful nature. I wish for people who accept me as I am and guide me step by step into the big world with patience and affection. Then I will surely become a faithful companion who loves her family from the bottom of her heart. If you are interested in Aurora, please fill out our inquiry form () or send us an email at or a message via Facebook. Aurora is ready for relocation and can travel with the next transport to Germany. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system used to monitor all pet traffic within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and possess an EU passport. Additionally, a quick test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted in dogs over 12 months prior to travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Heartworm disease, and Leishmaniasis. Sandra D. has taken over the sponsorship for Aurora and thus provides a filled food bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

Steckbrief Alter: ca. im Februar 2025 geboren. Geschlecht: weiblich.

About Aurora D

What life with Aurora D looks like

Aurora D is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aurora D, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aurora D?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aurora D on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aurora D if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aurora D already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aurora D isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aurora D and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
