Adopt Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Aurora – a sensitive Schäfer-Mix-female dog with a heavy past seeks a home Aurora, a female dog approximately 2 years old, is a Schäfer-Mix and currently lives in Nuremberg. She is in search of a new home with experienced dog owners. Already as a puppy around four weeks old, she suffered a brain hemorrhage due to severe mistreatment. Our veterinarians state that the neurological effects are not treatable. A spastic gait and uncertainties are noticeable. She is currently under veterinary care and receives magnesium as well as Sedarom (plant-based), with the hope of achieving some stabilization. Unfortunately, Aurora will not fully recover. Her current owners have saved her and brought her to safety but are unfortunately unable to keep her. This was clear from the beginning. Both are full-time employed and cannot do her justice. Despite this, Aurora is a very intelligent, independent-thinking female dog, bred to be watchful and territorial. She needs people who can provide her with clear leadership, structure, and consistent, but loving training. Aurora currently reacts to some environmental stimuli with insecurity. Visits to dog training classes and group training, as well as dog meet-ups, are intended to provide security in everyday life. She already knows other dogs from walks. We wish for her a quiet, experienced home without small children. Ideally, she would have a place as a single dog or with a confident, self-assured male dog. Aurora is a special female dog who, despite her heavy past, deserves a real chance. Whoever meets her with heart, patience, and understanding will receive a companion who brings a lot of potential and can succeed in an appropriate environment.

About Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer

What life with Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer looks like

Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Franken e.V. in Lauf.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Franken e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Franken e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Franken e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aurora – bleibt beim Besitzer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
