I'm a godfather, but what does that mean? Animals who, due to their age, physical vomiting, difficult traits or other reasons, no longer find a permanent home may stay in the association until their end of life and therefore need godfathers. We are accompanied by patenhunds in family and stress-free environments from nursing families to high age to the rainbow bridge. Often the path is stone and associated with doctor visits, surgery or elaborate hygiene measures due to incontinence. All costs are fully covered by the association. My nurse loves me and thought for a long time that the chances for me are for a new home. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find the right people. Ich bin ein Patenhund, aber was heißt das? Tiere, die auf Grund ihres Alters, körperlicher Gebrechen, schwieriger Wesenszüge oder anderer Gründe kein festes Zuhause mehr finden, dürfen im Verein bis zu ihrem Lebensende bleiben und benötigen deshalb Paten. Bei uns werden Patenhunde in familiärer und stressfreier Umgebung von Pflegefamilien bis ins hohe Alter zur Regenbogenbrücke begleitet. Oft ist der Weg steinig und mit Arztbesuchen, OPs oder aufwändiger Hygienemaßnahmen wegen Inkontinenz verbunden. Alle Kosten übernimmt voll umfänglich der Verein. Die Tierhilfe Franken trägt sich zu 100% selbst. “So lange ein Tier Lebensfreude hat und sich geliebt fühlt, darf es leben”, so Carmen Baur, die Vorsitzende der Tierhilfe Franken e.V. Was meine große Ängstlichkeit gegenüber Geräuschen (insbesondere Gewitter und Feuerwerk) betrifft, so bin ich deutlich gelassener geworden und kann das langsam auch einordnen. Mein Pflegefrauchen findet mich toll und dachte lange Zeit, dass die Chancen für mich auf ein neues Zuhause bestehen. Leider ist es nicht gelungen, die passenden Menschen zu finden. So wurde ich zum Patenhund und darf hier bei meiner Pflegestelle bleiben, wo es mir richtig gut geht. Als Patentier bin ich auf finanzielle Unterstützung von lieben Tiermenschen.
