Aya

Mixed Breed · Unknown

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Aya has already found its home! Her story: May we introduce her? Aya, a small fluffy female puppy, was found with her brother Jimmi by animal rescuer Meda. The first weeks of her life were not easy, but now the little magic mouse lives in a foster home in Bistrița, where she finally learns what it feels like to be cared for, warm, and secure. Aya is about four months old and shows typical puppy curiosity, playfulness, and joy in life. She loves playing with other dogs, discovering new things, and then sinking into the arms of her people for an extended cuddle. Her gentle gaze, fluffy fur, and cheerful nature touch everyone – Aya is a true heart-melting girl. Of course, the little one still has to learn everything a young puppy needs: house training, leash walking, small everyday rules, the relaxed alone time, and orientation to her people. And since Aya is right in the middle of the puppy stage, puberty is knocking at the door – a phase where young dogs like to test boundaries and sometimes act as if manners are optional. With patience, humor, and a loving, clear guidance, Aya will become a loyal, balanced family dog. A positively working dog training class would be ideal for her, as she is very attentive, eager to learn, and wants to please her people. Shared training, small adventures, lots of closeness, and a safe framework – all this will help Aya to thrive in the world. Aya is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. With her EU pet passport, she can travel to a loving foster home in Germany. Who falls in love with this little fluff wonder and shows Aya how wonderful a life full of love and security can be? A big thank you goes to namesake Jo-Anne, who not only gave Aya her beautiful name but also hope for a new life.

About Aya

What life with Aya looks like

Aya is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
