Azja

Female · Young · 1 year

We don’t know the history of little Asia; we have no idea why such a charming puppy ended up at the Shelter. Most likely, Asia has never lived in a city or a home before. At first, she was very scared of the Shelter, but she quickly and beautifully overcame her fears and learned that walking on a leash with people is fun—full of play, sniffing, exploring new places, meeting other dogs, and getting to know new people. Asia is intelligent and eager to learn, which bodes really well! Asia can be quite insecure at times, so she’ll need an experienced caregiver who’ll continue working on her socialization and help her navigate this brand-new world for her. As for other dogs, Asia (at least for now) doesn’t seem to get along very well with them. We’re not sure how she’d fare around cats. During our “Adopt a Warsawite” outings, Asia did wonderfully—even though bus rides aren’t exactly among her favorite activities. On the other hand, she has no trouble meeting new people or exploring new places and makes the most of every outing outside the Shelter. We also invite you to check out our volunteer group’s social media channels, where you’ll find updates on the lives of our shelter residents, information about adoptions, greetings from foster homes, educational posts, and much more! About Azja

What life with Azja looks like

Azja is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs socialization work and gradual introduction to home environment

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Azja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Azja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Azja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Azja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Azja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Azja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Azja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
