Adopt Baboo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Description Update 02.05.2026: Baboo is looking for a new family. Unfortunately, the little teddy bear could not stay in his current home through no fault of his own. Baboo has already experienced some everyday situations and urban environmental stimuli, but overall, his adaptability to daily life in Baboo's future forever-home still needs improvement because he cannot yet assess every situation confidently. Baboo walks on a leash quite nicely and is responsive, though his leash manners can still be improved depending on the environment. Baboo generally gets along well with strangers as long as they are not hectic or loud; he behaves cautiously and reservedly towards them. Baboo dislikes noise and is startled by loud banging or clanging sounds, which can cause him to flee. Therefore, he should move into a quieter, less busy household without small children. The handsome boy with the golden curls generally gets along well with fellow animals. When his four-legged friends are around, Baboo enjoys car rides; however, riding alone in the car is still not entirely comfortable for him. The charmer is already house-trained and hopes that the right people will see him and take him into their hearts. Our animal welfare workers report: Baboo did not have an easy start in life - he was rescued from being put down in Scornicești, where he was supposed to rot. 🆘Currently, he lives in a temporary emergency foster home because the local animal shelter is overcrowded, but this place can no longer be secured for the sensitive male dog with the teddy bear fur. If he has to return to the streets, he will likely be run over or caught again and sent to one of many Romanian municipal euthanasia facilities. The small, scruffy Baboo tries to be brave, but it is hard for him - the constant barking, the concrete kennel, everything is so monotonous and terribly bleak. Baboo has gained some weight and now weighs at least 11.2 kg (as of February 2026), yet his bones can still be felt because he is still a bit too thin. The poor soul has never had its own bowl of nutritious food. Baboo is an absolutely lovely, friendly, gentle male dog who gets along well with other animals. 🐶💖He shows himself openly, human-oriented, and tries to cope in the life-threatening, cold environment. Baboo does as much as he can, approaches the camera, and does not give up hope that someone out there sees him and finally saves him permanently. The only thing missing for his happiness now is: ✨ A home of his own with people who love him and will never abandon him again. ✨ Who will give Baboo, whom fate has treated so badly, a caring forever-home and affection for the first time? Who has Baboo's ticket to freedom? Please note:

About Baboo

What life with Baboo looks like

Baboo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baboo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baboo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baboo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baboo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baboo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baboo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baboo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
