Babs

English Bulldog · Female · Adult · 7 years

10-10-26 Babs is a lovely, chilled girl who has come to us from a home through no fault of her own. Unfortunately due to a change in circumstances, her owners are unable to keep her and so have made the difficult decision to rehome her. We don't know much at all about her history but are told at one point she was used for breeding and may have had a few owners before ending up with her most recent family who she spent 3.5 years with. Babs has a wonderful temperament and can often be found happily chilling on her bed. She loves fuss and attention but is not demanding of it, making her a lovely, easy-going girl to have around. Babs is good with other dogs, but she can become jealous if another dog comes over for attention, so for this reason we feel that she would be best suited to be homed as an only dog where she can get all the love and attention for herself. She would love her adopters to be around for most of the time and we would consider homing her with dog savvy children 9+ as she has previously lived with children. She is a wonderful girl and someone who has experience with bulldogs is going to absolutely adore her! As Babs has come to us from a home, she will already be familiar with the sights and sounds of home life. However, she may still need some help with house training as she settles into her new home. She can already walk on a lead and is quite happy to get out for a stroll, although she does not need long walks. Babs has arrived with a lump on her right shoulder, which our vets will need to assess further. She also has some sore skin and a crusty nose, but with some love and TLC, we hope she will start to look and feel much better soon. Babs will also need regular cleaning of her face folds to help keep them clean and comfortable. She is currently being treated for an ear infection. Babs is a lovely, laid-back girl who seems happiest enjoying the simple things in life: a comfy bed, some gentle fuss and the company of her people. We hope she finds a home where she can settle in, enjoy her walks at her own pace and be thoroughly spoiled.

About Babs

What life with Babs looks like

Babs is a adult english bulldog dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Babs, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Babs?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Babs on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Babs if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Babs already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Babs isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Babs and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
