Adopt Badger

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 9 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! The gentle Badger was found with her two sisters, Racoon and Silja, in a Roma settlement – without their mother, completely on their own. In the merciless Romanian winter, this meant no chance of survival for the little puppies. Additionally, this settlement is unfortunately not a safe place for dogs. For us, it was immediately clear: The trio must be in safety. While their sisters have long been able to travel and enjoy their lives in their families, the beautiful "Badger Lady" still waits day by day. Why her people have not discovered her yet is a complete mystery to us. Badger is now approximately 9 months old and has a current shoulder height of 52 cm. She has developed into an outstanding young lady. Especially charming is her now fluffy and soft fur, which one would like to stroke all day. Her characteristic mask still clearly shows how she came to be named what she is. It saddens us to see her getting older, as she clearly has the potential for an incredibly wonderful companion! Badger is initially a bit shy, especially in new situations. But give her a moment, and she warms up. With her dog friends, she truly blossoms – then one can see her joy in life, her playfulness, and her curiosity. It is a true pleasure to observe. She loves other dogs very much and would like to be friends with everyone. Therefore, a confident only-dog home would certainly be enriching for Badger, but not a must. People also greet her joyfully the moment they get to know her. The sweet puppy lives in outdoor housing, and the full daily life of the on-site caretakers almost makes it impossible to give her the affection and attention that a delicate soul like Badger so desperately needs. And so, valuable time passes, during which Badger misses out on what a dog life with a real family could be like. We sincerely wish for Badger that her people will finally notice her. She will still have much to learn, and the dog ABC is still foreign to her. Therefore, we wish for a loving and patient family that will allow Badger to come at her own pace and will show her the world step by step. If you think Badger would be a good match for you, please get in touch. A loving foster home would also be an invaluable stepping stone for Badger. Don't let her become invisible; give her the life she so deserves. Badger travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to her new home. She will be available after a positive adoption. Thank you Vanessa B.! You have given Badger her name! Date: 25.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Vanessa B.! Du hast Badger ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 25.03.2026

About Badger

What life with Badger looks like

Badger is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Badger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Badger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Badger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Badger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Badger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Badger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Badger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
