How do I contact the shelter about Bafija?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bafija on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Bafija if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Bafija already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Bafija isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bafija and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (LV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Bafija

Female · Adult · 4 years

Age (approximate): 4 years (08/2022). MCH - 900263008169535; ) Unknown breed; country of origin - Latvia. Health status - no health issues observed. Additional information: short-haired, vaccinated, spayed Bafia is an approximately four-year-old tricolor female cat with an expressive gaze and her own unique style. In the summer, Bafia arrived at the shelter with her kittens. The little ones have now gone on to their new lives, and the mother is also ready to find her home. Bafia's appearance currently has a bit of comedy and a bit of drama: a gloomy look, a black "stripe" across her nose, and the once-spent coat of a wandering life. However, the coat is slowly becoming silky and beautiful, and Bafia herself is recovering from the uncertain life and caring for the kittens. Bafia is happy to accept human attention, and rubbing and cuddling are very much to her liking. She does not conflict with other cats, but takes her place slowly, keeping to her safe spot and not rushing into too rapid socialization. Looking at Bafia, one can't help but think, what if she really is the reincarnation of a vampire hunter cat? Then at least one thing is clear, Bafia plays her special role very convincingly. Now she just needs a good person and a peaceful home, where she can finally rest from her wandering life. Bafia is looking for safe homes and her person, whose love will turn her slightly sad look into the special mystery of a beloved cat. Vecums (aptuvenais): 4 gadi (08.2022.).
