adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bagel has found his luck! His story: Bagel is an approximately 1–2 year old, curious, lively, and affectionate young dog who captivates every heart with his cheerful nature. He loves nothing more than snuggling for hours with his people and savoring every moment of affection. Bagel was found alone by the roadside and was able to travel to a loving foster home at the beginning of August, where he now waits for his forever home. In everyday life, Bagel shows great composure and fearlessness: whether washing machine, vacuum cleaner, bicycles, e-scooters, or cars – none of this fazed him. He also masters short car rides with ease. He is familiar with leashes and dishes and loves going for walks together, where he is active and full of energy – age-appropriate. A family that enjoys learning together with him and fostering his growth would be ideal. When interacting with other dogs, Bagel is friendly and interested, so an independent only-dog could also fit him well. He is gentle and affectionate towards people – he does not know aggression. We can also envision a harmonious coexistence with children. Bagel still needs to practice being alone, but he comes with the best prerequisites: he is smart, eager to learn, and wants to please his people. Bagel brings everything the heart desires: love, joy in life, and a large portion of charm. What he still lacks is a home full of security, affection, and adventure – with people who will win his heart and never let him go. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank Antje! Du hast Bagel seinen süßen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 24.08.2025

About Bagel

What life with Bagel looks like

Bagel is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bagel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bagel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bagel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bagel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bagel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bagel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bagel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
