Bailey

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Bailey is a strong, curious Boerboel who will be very cautious at first. The new owner will need patience, time and space to build a trusting bond. When that bond is there, Bailey will show her curious, eager-to-learn side and quickly picks up on new things. Bailey came to us with limited basic knowledge, but now she masters several basic commands, Trick Dog exercises and walks nicely on a leash. Due to enthusiasm, Bailey can sometimes jump up and/or bite at hands. A obedience course or a (not too demanding) dog sport will do Bailey good and she will find it super fun. We place Bailey in a quiet, predictable 1 or 2-person household without children or other pets. A safe, enclosed garden will be pleasant for Bailey. Bailey is looking for an owner who has experience with this or a similar breed, is strong in their own shoes and wants to (re)train her with a consistent but at the same time loving hand. When you provide her with stability and trust, you will eventually get a proud, loyal four-legged companion back.

Ga terug

About Bailey

What life with Bailey looks like

Bailey is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dierentehuis Arnhem in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bailey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bailey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Arnhem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bailey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bailey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis Arnhem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bailey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bailey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Arnhem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bailey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
