BAILEY

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 5 years

BAILEY (F) 5 and a half years - URGENTLY LOOKING FOR A FOSTER HOME or to be adopted via BorderLineCollie Characteristics Date of birth: 12/08/2017 Gender: Female Registered with LOF/LOSH/ISDS: No Disabilities: No Children's compatibility: No Dog compatibility: Yes, but to be tried Cat compatibility: No Other compatibility: Not known Character Bailey is a kind, intelligent, eager to learn, energetic, unsure of herself and very sensitive dog. Once you have gained her trust, she is a real teddy bear. She is sensitive to changes in mood or mindset of her owner. This can potentially worsen her undesirable behavior. Unfortunately, Bailey has little confidence in people she doesn't know. When a stranger tries to make contact with her, she seeks the support of her owner or growls and becomes aggressive. When ignored, not called, or not made eye contact, there is no problem. Bailey knows basic commands and listens well. When she is in a trusted place, she can walk without a leash. On walks, she tries to chase cars, so it is important to distract her in time. When Bailey is not on a leash and meets other dogs, she adopts a hunter's behavior and then jumps on the other dog. After this stage, generally with most dogs, everything goes well. When she is on a leash and meets other dogs, it is important to distract her and draw her attention. In this case, everything goes well except if the other dog reacts in an aggressive way. Bailey loves the car and stays alone at home without any problems. She knows the dog crate. Story The previous owners of Bailey had many pets. Due to health issues, taking care of the animals became too difficult for them for a long time already. That is why, a few months ago, we were entrusted with Bailey. She was placed at BorderLineCollie so that we could work on her behavior and better socialization. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, Bailey cannot stay. That is why we are looking for a new foster family or adoptive family. What kind of family are we looking for for Bailey? Adopters or a foster family where the work and efforts of the current foster family are continued. A family that teaches her to trust humans. Bailey follows the example of other dogs in the family, so the presence of another stable dog is certainly an advantage. Bailey loves working, so we are looking for a place where she is given enough mental and physical activities. Bailey has become familiar with sheep herding. Her trainer thinks that after a few weeks of training, Bailey would be suitable to work with a flock. Foster home sought Adoption Neutered/spayed: No, but will be done Vaccinated: Yes Identifier: 528246002642737 Address: Sittard, Netherlands Participation in costs: 180€ Contact person: Maco Hoogenboom (Netherlands) or Veerle Baekelandt (Belgium) via messenger Email: Share on PinterestShare with your friendsYour NameYour EmailRecipient EmailEnter a MessageI read this article and found it very interesting, I think you might like it. About BAILEY

What life with BAILEY looks like

BAILEY is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Border Line Collie in borderlinecollie.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting BAILEY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BAILEY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Border Line Collie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BAILEY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BAILEY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Border Line Collie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BAILEY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BAILEY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Border Line Collie early rather than rehoming privately; they know BAILEY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
