Bailey

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Adult · 3 years

Bailey is a young boy bursting with energy, enthusiasm, and personality. He’s currently thriving in a foster home while he waits for his forever family, and his fosterers say he has been an absolute joy to have around At home, Bailey is a happy, gentle boy who loves zoomies around the garden, shaking his rope toys, and chasing tennis balls. He sleeps soundly through the night, has been clean in the house from day one, and copes really well being left alone for short periods.Bailey absolutely adores people and loves affection, cuddles, and being involved in daily life. He’s incredibly intelligent, highly food motivated, and loves learning new things.Out on walks, Bailey currently wears a muzzle as part of his ongoing training around other dogs, and he wears it like an absolute superstar. Thanks to all the fantastic work that’s gone into his training, Bailey is coping brilliantly around dogs when given space, reassurance, and guidance from his handler.Bailey would love a home that can continue supporting his progress and helping him build on all the amazing work he’s already achieved. He would prefer to be the only pet in the home so he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. While we feel Bailey would suit an adult-focused home best, he may be able to live with older, dog-savvy children who understand his needs and can respect his space.Bailey truly is the best boy and has so much love, loyalty, and happiness to give.

About Bailey

What life with Bailey looks like

Bailey is a adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bailey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bailey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bailey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bailey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bailey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bailey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bailey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
