Baily

Labrador Retriever · Male · 3 years

Update: Baily is in a training facility in NRW and must also be visited there. Please contact us if you are interested and Baily is suitable for you. Baily came to us because his owner felt overwhelmed with him and no longer had time for him. The handsome little mixed-breed male dog is house-trained, knows how to ride in the car, and remains problem-free even when left alone at home. He must be allowed to get to know new people in peace, but shows friendliness to his caregivers when he trusts them. Unfortunately, ball play as an activity in his previous home was overdone. Baily does not enjoy it, but instead falls into an unhealthy addictive behavior from which he cannot recover on his own. His new people should therefore avoid ball and tug games and instead offer alternative mental stimulation that promotes calmness and concentration. His caregivers are happy to answer any questions about this. We are looking for an ground-floor home and a confident individual for Baily, someone with experience with difficult dogs who can provide leadership and security and who will visit the animal shelter to get to know Baily multiple times. So far, Baily has lacked a certain structure in his life; therefore, he does not always behave friendly on the leash when he is overwhelmed by a situation, and he also tends to jump. However, if he feels well taken care of by his person, he will certainly become more relaxed. Baily is not suitable for a family with children and should not live with other pets in the household. Who has a dog bed for our Baily? Please send an email with your phone number to . We look forward to your inquiry.

About Baily

What life with Baily looks like

Baily is a small adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires avoiding ball games due to obsessive behavior; needs structured environment and patient handling

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baily, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baily?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baily on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baily if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baily already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baily isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baily and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
