Bajer

Mixed Breed · Female

Bajer is a calm, 29-kilogram dog who is looking for a very specific and responsible home. He is an exceptionally gentle dog who actively seeks human company, loves being petted, and has a natural instinct to follow his guardian closely, step by step. On walks, he walks nicely on the leash, rarely pulls, and with great curiosity absorbs his surroundings—taking in new sights and smells. In interactions with other animals, he displays remarkable maturity: he gets along wonderfully with female dogs in the play area, while simply ignoring male dogs he encounters during walks. Bajer is seeking a calm, patient, and understanding home; in households with gardens, a very sturdy and securely fenced yard is essential, as this dog has a strong tendency to try to explore and break through fences, and even to attempt to open doors—a behavior likely stemming from his long period of homelessness and wandering, when he had to fend for himself in the wild.

PL·Show original

About Bajer

What life with Bajer looks like

Bajer is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Czekadełko in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bajer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bajer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Czekadełko handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bajer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bajer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Czekadełko will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bajer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bajer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Czekadełko early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bajer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
