Baks (Бакс)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

We are looking for a family for Baksik. Baks was taken from the parking lot and left on the residential complex area. People who knew Baks from his previous place of residence turned out to be not very friendly towards Baks, so we don't know what he had to go through being surrounded by these people. Baks is up to 5 years old and weighs 25 kg. According to the doctor's assessment, Baks is healthy: "ready for the Olympics", he has been vaccinated, treated for ticks and worms, his paw will soon be healed and Baks will be able to joyfully run to meet his new owner! So now the dog is fully ready for life in a family. He loves children's company and happily wags his tail when he sees other dogs, joyfully running with them, even despite his paw. It's hard to imagine what they could have done to him. Also, Baks likes when someone scratches his tummy 😊 Baksik and we both very much dream of a loving family and warm home with people and animals. Yes, he wasn't born in military conditions or somewhere else, but he has gone through a big and difficult path. He deserves the best furry life. We hope for your help so that Baks can quickly change his sleeping place from the children's playground to a warm bed 🥺 Contact number of guardians:

About Baks (Бакс)

What life with Baks (Бакс) looks like

Baks (Бакс) is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Kyiv in Ukraine.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇺🇦Adopting from Ukraine

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baks (Бакс), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baks (Бакс)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kyiv handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baks (Бакс) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baks (Бакс) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kyiv will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baks (Бакс) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baks (Бакс) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kyiv early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baks (Бакс) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
