SZAZA

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 1 month

Shelter listing: Szaza is a young, extremely fragile female dog born in 2025, which means she is currently only about a year old. She is a puppy entering adulthood, who instead of enjoying her youth, running carefree in the grass and exploring the world, is experiencing a real drama behind bars. She weighs about 12 kg, proudly representing a very elegant, compact and handy format of a small/medium dog, ideal for any apartment. Unfortunately, the reality of the shelter has overwhelmed her completely. Szaza is currently very scared, withdrawn and extremely uncertain - noise, barking of hundreds of dogs and cold box awaken a paralyzing fear in her. She squeezes into the farthest corner, trying to be invisible. However, there is not a single drop of aggression in her eyes - it is only pure fear of a hurt, lost creature that has lost a sense of security. Under this thick shell of fear, a quiet, golden heart beats, which desperately longs for peace, patience and warmth. The shelter box is a place where such a sensitive dog can completely fade away - Szaza urgently needs help to believe that a human can love! Why does little and subtle Szaza need you? Youth and a whole life ahead: At just about a year old, she has a huge chance to fully open up and make up for lost time in a safe environment. Compact, comfortable format: Weighing 12 kg, she is very handy - ideal for a quiet, quiet apartment or a house with a garden in a quiet area. Pure, defenseless gentleness: Zero aggression - her withdrawal is only a cry for help and safety, which will melt under the influence of love. Invaluable gift of trust: The transformation of a fearful dog into a joyful friend is the most beautiful journey, and the first moment when Szaza herself approaches for caress will be worth every effort. We are looking for a very calm, patient and empathetic home for Szaza - people experienced or ready to work with a withdrawn dog, who will not put pressure on her, give her time to adapt at her own pace and surround her with unconditional care. Give her a safe haven, and this little girl will repay you with the deepest, boundless devotion for a lifetime!

Dlaczego mała i subtelna Szaza potrzebuje właśnie Ciebie? Bezcenny dar zaufania: Przemiana psa lękowego w radosnego przyjaciela to najpiękniejsza podróż, a pierwsza chwila, gdy Szaza sama podejdzie po pieszczotę, będzie warta każdego wysiłku.

About SZAZA

What life with SZAZA looks like

SZAZA is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting SZAZA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SZAZA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SZAZA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SZAZA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SZAZA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SZAZA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know SZAZA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
