Baldur-2

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Baldur's story is one of the kind: without words. The handsome Baldur was wandering alone on a bypass road near Kecskemét on August 5, 2026. One can only imagine what could have happened, but fortunately, Baldur was safely secured and did not get under the wheels. During the chip check, no one was found. But finally, it turned out that Baldur has an owner, who has already paid a fine for chaining and his dog still has no chip, let alone a rabies vaccination, which must be renewed every year, both are mandatory in Hungary. The owner could not get Baldur back, which is certainly in the dog's best interest, and thus his unworthy life on the chain is a thing of the past. The former owner also mentioned that Baldur is about 5 years old, he doesn't know exactly (the animal shelter veterinarian estimates him to be 8 years old) and he actually used to be called Bàtor. But for this four-legged friend, it's now: a new name, a new life. We keep our fingers crossed that he will be able to solve his ticket to happiness soon. Baldur is a great fellow, nice, upstanding, friendly, strong, sometimes a bit stormy with joy. He likes us humans very much and is happy when you give him some time and attention. He urgently needs physical and mental exercise, clear but loving leadership, and he wants to be challenged and promoted so that he can develop further into a great and loyal companion and his new life can be steered in the right direction. He would certainly have a lot of fun with joint activities with his two-legged ones, just everything that makes humans and dogs happy together and which undiscovered talents are dormant in him, his new people may find out. Of course, Baldur still needs to do some schoolwork, but he seems to be a clever little fellow and will quickly understand how the rabbit runs. Baldur needs structure, rules and a set framework in which he can develop. He gets along well with his fellow dogs and is currently (September 2, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. For our wonderful Baldur, we are looking for an enterprising and experienced home, with people with a plan for life, who can love, understand, appreciate and lead Baldur. Nice two-legged ones, who can give Baldur a varied and exciting life, where he can catch up on all the things he missed. Full family connection, dog school, long walks, sports activities, play and fun, plenty of cuddles, enough rest phases, a cozy dog bed, people he can always rely on and a lot of love would make Baldur very happy. Who will go through thick and thin with Baldur? Baldur has an old scar on his neck. Baldur can travel from mid/end September 2026 onwards if he has found a home or a foster home.

About Baldur-2

What life with Baldur-2 looks like

Baldur-2 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baldur-2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baldur-2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baldur-2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baldur-2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baldur-2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baldur-2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baldur-2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
