Banjer en Bailey

Bailey (right) is a sweet but rather shy fellow, 2 years old. He was brought in because his companion had passed away, making him very lonely. Not long after, the little Banjer was brought to us, a cheerful, energetic, and enterprising type that seems to fit Bailey’s character very well. We are still looking for a nice place for this duo. A place where understanding is shown to the uncertain Bailey, so a place where he doesn’t have to do too much and can gradually get used to everything around him at his own pace. A busy family where he is expected to sit comfortably on someone’s lap does not fit him at all. The young and lively Banjer has the potential to be friendly with people. But as a young and temperamental cavy, he has a lot of energy. So sitting still… no, that doesn’t have to be his thing right now. And for that reason, we really want to rehome these boys to a place where they can truly enjoy their space, so not in a cage with the minimum dimensions of 1.20 x 0.50 m. A double cage, or for example, a large (outdoor) run… that’s where they will likely truly come into their own. And we expect that they will still find each other quite likable in the long term. Because Banjer, of course, is growing up, and that means he will start to have his pubertal antics. In short, we are looking for a place with: Understanding of their character: not “they must be ‘tame’” or sit still on someone’s lap, but they can just be cavies and develop as they want to. Plenty of space to run, bounce, and explore. A bit of knowledge (or at least openness) about cavy behavior, so that their potentially anxious (Bailey) or pubertal (Banjer) behavior is understood and not misinterpreted. Bailey (rechts) is een lieve maar nogal verlegen kereltje van 2 jaar oud. Hij is gebracht omdat zijn maatje overleden was, daardoor werd hij erg eenzaam. Niet veel later werd de kleine Banjer bij ons gebracht, een vrolijk, energiek en ondernemend typetje dat Bailey heel goed aan lijkt te vullen in karakter. Nu zijn we nog op zoek naar een fijn plekje voor dit duo. Een plekje waar begrip is voor de onzekere Bailey, dus een plekje waar hij niet te veel “moet” en rustig op zijn eigen tempo mag wennen aan alles om hem heen. Een druk gezin waar hij geacht wordt gezellig op schoot te zitten past dus totaal niet bij hem. De jonge en vrolijke Banjer die heeft het wel in zich om gezellig met mensen om te gaan. Maar hij heeft als jonge en temperamentvolle cavia wel heel veel energie. Dus stilzitten…. nee dat hoeft op dit moment niet zo van hem. En om die reden willen we deze jongens ook echt uitplaatsen op een plekje waar ze echt lekker de ruimte hebben, dus niet in een hok met de minimum-afmetingen van 1,20 x 0,50 m. Een dubbele kooi, of bijvoorbeeld een grote (buiten)ren…. daar komen ze waarschijnlijk pas echt goed tot hun recht. En dan verwachten we dat ze elkaar ook op de langere termijn nog leuk blijven vinden. Want Banjer die is natuurlijk aan het opgroeien, en dat betekent dat hij nog lekker zijn puberstreken gaat krijgen. Kort gezegd zoeken we dus een plekje met: Begrip voor hun karakter: niet “ze moeten ‘tam' worden” of stil blijven zitten op schoot, maar ze mogen gewoon cavia zijn en zich ontwikkelen zoals zij dat willen. Lekker de ruimte om te rennen, stuiteren en verkennen. Een beetje verstand (of in ieder geval openheid) van caviagedrag, zodat hun mogelijk angstige (Bailey) of puberale (Banjer) gedrag begrepen en vooral niet verkeerd geïnterpreteerd wordt. Ben je dus op zoek naar een beetje uitdaging en een niet-standaard setje? Dan denken we dat dit zomaar een heel passend duo zal zijn!
