Adopt Barbie

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten · 4 months

Hello everyone, My name is Barbie and I’m ready to find my forever home! Did you know: Some people say I’m a Torbie cat, Torbies have a tabby pattern made up of tortoiseshell colours! My personality: I am a shy girl and I’m still figuring out the cattery, I like watching the other cats play and if I’m feeling super brave I might even go out and have a bit of an explore! I am super friendly but prefer not to be over fussed, I like to come to the humans in my own time. My ideal home: I would love a home that is calm and relaxed, with humans that allow me to come out of my shell in my own time. I may like to live with another cat or kitten that can help show me the ropes, or my brother, Ken, who helps me with my confidence. I could live with sensible children ages 10+, who understand that I will need some space initially. Access to outdoors: I may like to have access to the outdoors once I have settled in, however, I would also be happy being an indoor cat. Toileting: I am litter trained and I currently prefer wood pellet litter. My adoption fee is £175

About Barbie

What life with Barbie looks like

Barbie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Barbie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Barbie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Barbie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Barbie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Barbie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Barbie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Barbie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
