BÄRchen

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! BÄRchen has found a home! His story: BÄRchen lives up to his name: He is approximately 4 years old, 60–65 cm tall, and simply an imposing, wonderfully mellow male dog. For over two years, he lived with many other dogs in the our shelter in Busag, until he finally had the great fortune to move to a loving foster home. Now he is searching for his permanent home – maybe with you? Upon his arrival, BÄRchen simply charmed everyone with his warm nature. Petting, snuggling, and a lot of closeness are his absolute favorites – he thoroughly enjoys his cuddle sessions. But almost as much as his love for treats, which makes training incredibly easy. At his foster home, he has already learned the first basic commands and continues to make progress every day. His foster family is completely delighted with him! BÄRchen shows himself to be an incredibly friendly, lovable, and social dog. Even at the vet, he was always well-behaved (just a little excited) and he gets along famously with cats – in fact, he found most living beings quite wonderful! However, when it comes to food, he can still be a bit of a foodie and sometimes sticks his snout into other bowls. Proper separate feeding should be observed at the beginning. In everyday life, there are still a few things to practice: BÄRchen does not particularly enjoy car rides and is not yet good at being alone – both should be trained step-by-step and with patience. Dog encounters fascinate him, and often it is hard for him to understand why he can't always play with the other dog. The harness is no problem for him to wear, and he walks calmly on the leash. Bärchen's appearance and his balanced, but watchful nature suggest that he could be a mix with a herding dog. Future owners should definitely familiarize themselves with the typical characteristics of the breed or even bring their own experience. For BÄRchen, we wish sensitive, nature-loving people with a rural environment. Lots of time, love, patience, and no overly high expectations – that is the most you can give this heartwarming fellow. Children should be sturdy, as Bärchen's size and exuberance can sometimes be a bit boisterous. BÄRchen travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. He will of course bring his EU pet passport with him. Many thanks to Sigi B.! You named BÄRchen! Date: 09.11.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Sigi B.! Du hast Bärchen seinen Namen geschenkt! About BÄRchen

What life with BÄRchen looks like

BÄRchen is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting BÄRchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BÄRchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BÄRchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BÄRchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BÄRchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BÄRchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know BÄRchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
