Adopt Baril

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Baril was taken to our Small Farm after his adoptive family apparently broke almost all the points of the adoption contract. It took him some time until he found his way to us and learned the daily routine. However, living in the shelter is not doing Barilko good, the constant barking of a large number of puppies upsets him. We are looking for a great family for Barilko, who will appreciate his attachment to people, whom he really likes after getting to know them. With regular walks, Baril has nicely developed hygiene habits, is gentle and manageable, a little shy. He gets along individually with dogs, he prefers walks with a smaller number of dogs in the exercise run. We are looking for a family where Barilko will be a member of the household. Will we manage to find this beautiful dog named Baril the awaited and loving home?

SNP 21, 811 01 Bratislava FIO CZ: 2201868518/2010 SWIFT/ Banka: Fio banka, a.s., V Celnici 1028/10, 117 21 Praha 1

About Baril

What life with Baril looks like

Baril is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Malá farma in Slovakia.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇰Adopting from Slovakia

Slovak rescue groups coordinate cross-border transport with European partners. Animals are chipped and vaccinated; sterilization is often included for adults and arranged post-adoption for puppies/kittens.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baril, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baril?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Malá farma handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baril on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baril if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Malá farma will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baril already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baril isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Malá farma early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baril and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
