Baron

Male · Senior · 13 years

Baron is an energetic, emotional dog who doesn't always know how to deal with his feelings. He came to the animal shelter together with Strzałka, after their caretaker, for random reasons, could no longer take care of them. The family instead of helping, gave the puppies to the animal shelter. This sudden change caused both puppies to greatly experience the loss of home and a close person. Because of Strzałka, the puppy was sometimes possessive, so we decided to look for separate homes for them - and Strzałka has already found her home. Only poor Baron is still waiting for a home... Baron is a bit brave, but also distrustful of new people. With people he knows well, he gets along very well, allowing much more, with whom he shares affection and gives kisses. Due to Baron's needs and character, we are looking for a home without children and other animals for him - he can defend his resources and on walks barks at other dogs and doesn't like their company. Baron needs a caring caregiver who will help him find peace and stability.

PL·Show original

Rodzina, zamiast pomóc, oddała psiaki do schroniska. Monika 667473808 Anna 501175692 Dominika 512647947

About Baron

What life with Baron looks like

Baron is a small senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Resource guarding behavior, reactive to other dogs on walks

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baron, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baron?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baron on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baron if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baron already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baron isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baron and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
