Bary

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Born on 20.11.2015 Size: large Bary is a beautiful and very dignified German Shepherd who impresses not only with his appearance but also his intelligence. He knows basic commands, is polite and obedient, and walks nicely on a leash during walks. He also loves playing with a ball, which brings him great joy. He gets along well with both dogs and cats. However, he is not a dog for everyone. Bary needs an experienced, consistent and firm owner who clearly sets rules from the beginning and sticks to them. If he is allowed too much, Bary can take advantage of this and try to take control of the situation. For this reason, we do not recommend him for a home with young children. We are looking for a responsible owner who knows the needs and character of German Shepherds and will be able to build a relationship with Bary based on mutual respect and trust. Bary has great potential to become a wonderful, faithful and devoted companion - he just needs the right person who can lead him.

About Bary

What life with Bary looks like

Bary is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja SOS dla Zwierząt in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bary, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bary?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja SOS dla Zwierząt handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bary on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bary if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja SOS dla Zwierząt will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bary already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bary isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja SOS dla Zwierząt early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bary and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
