Bastl

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 2 months

Bastl is a curious and affectionate 8-week-old puppy who loves to explore and play. He is a sweetheart, always seeking out his favorite spot on the couch, but also enjoys playing fetch and proudly carrying sticks around. Now, he is ready for his next adventure in a forever home. Bastl and his eight siblings were abandoned in the woods, far too young to survive on their own. Fortunately, they were discovered by a woman who asked for our help. Currently, the adorable litter is safely housed in a Romanian shelter. Visually, Bastl is a cute little puppy who will grow into a proud male. His striking coat pattern has the right accents. We estimate his adult shoulder height to be medium-sized, but he may grow a few more inches. We can only speculate about his pedigree, but a shepherd dog ancestry is possible. If he inherits those traits, he could become an intelligent, active, and loyal companion who forms a close bond with his humans. Herding dogs are attentive, eager to learn, and need both physical and mental stimulation. Bastl would love long walks, exciting discovery tours, and games of fetch, and later perhaps dog sports. By taking Bastl into your home, you are not only choosing many cuddly moments, but also deciding to accompany a young dog through his development and teach him the dog alphabet. There will be challenges, and certainly moments, especially during puberty, when you need to take a deep breath. But with each shared experience, trust, bonding, and a very special relationship will grow. Bastl is age-appropriately interested in and open to other dogs. He has also met cats and gets along well with them. After a positive preliminary check and the adoption of a deposit, he will travel with a microchip, vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, and an EU pet passport. Due to his age, Bastl has not yet been neutered. Who fulfills Bastl's greatest wish for a home? A foster home could also provide him with temporary help. Thank you, Basti, for taking on the role of his namesake. Date: 18.09.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Bastl

What life with Bastl looks like

Bastl is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bastl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bastl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bastl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bastl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bastl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bastl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bastl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
