Batida (w)

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

"Ach how cute" or "I would have loved to have them," often appeared under the albums when they were still puppies, but adoption never came. That's why we want to introduce some dogs here who have lived in the shelter since puppyhood and somehow got lost in the crowd of dogs. Now it's time to shine a light on them, because they deserve a wonderful life in a loving environment too. The dogs we are introducing live problem-free in the mixed dog group and are absolutely social. Of course, they still have a lot to learn when they arrive in the big, wide world, as they don't know leashes, might not be house-trained, and have not experienced much yet. But with patience, love, and a touch of humor, it will surely only be a matter of time until they become a pleasant and uncomplicated companion. Who gives our Snowflake Batida a chance and gives the pretty mouse her heart??? Batida, born on November 26, 2023, is around 55-60 cm tall and a very loving female dog who still hasn't been properly assessed by people and therefore tends to be more shy. She likes to run around in the run with her buddies, but as soon as a human appears, she becomes shy and tries to observe cautiously. Given that a herding dog might be involved in her genes, we are definitely looking for dog-experienced, very patient people who will give her the time to learn everything a "well-bred dog" should know. An experienced single dog would certainly make this transition much easier for everyone. Due to her stubby tail, Batida unfortunately cannot become a Swiss citizen. Batida will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and travel with a Snap test and an EU passport. She will be rehomed with V. All our dogs come to Nuremberg and would also like to be picked up here. Contact:

About Batida (w)

What life with Batida (w) looks like

Batida (w) is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Batida (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Batida (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Batida (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Batida (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Batida (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Batida (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Batida (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
