BATMAN

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Batman is a sweet and sensitive European cat who hides behind his superhero name a gentle personality. He can be stressed by changes and new situations but finds comfort in the company of other cats. In the cattery, he often curls up next to them, which soothes and reassures him. Batman is clean, calm, and able to tolerate loneliness, making him a great fit for apartment living. However, outdoor life isn't suitable for him - his anxiety would make it difficult for him to find his way back home if he had free access outside. Batman gets along well with other cats and we think having another feline companion in his future home would be beneficial for his well-being and happiness. We don't have information on how he reacts to dogs yet. Due to his sensitivity, he will do best with a calm family without very young children. Older children who respect his pace and need for tranquility can build a beautiful relationship of trust with him. His ideal home: - An apartment or house without free outdoor access - A calm and reassuring environment - One or more sociable cats to keep him company - Patient, gentle, and caring adopters - Older children who respect his sensitivity Batman doesn't ask for much: a peaceful home, a feline companion, and humans willing to give him time to gain confidence. In return, he will offer you the greatest reward: his sincere affection and the satisfaction of seeing a sensitive cat finally thrive in a loving family.

About BATMAN

What life with BATMAN looks like

BATMAN is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting BATMAN, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BATMAN?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BATMAN on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BATMAN if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BATMAN already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BATMAN isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know BATMAN and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
