Batorek

Male · Adult · 4 years

Batorka can be met at the Ochota na Kota point on Grójecka 79 street. He is always eager to see someone in the room. When he loses patience, he taps his paw on the window to definitely get attention. This is our Batorek. It's his second stay at the animal shelter. In 2022 he came to us after an accident - he had an orthopedic operation. After three months he recovered and went home. Everything was supposed to be fine. Unfortunately, two years after adoption he returned to the animal shelter. A huge change and stress - Batorek didn't cope with it well. Strong stress worsened his bladder problems, which led to his return from adoption. He took a long time to recover in the cat hospital. Today he feels much better. He is the first to play, sometimes needs to vent, he is cheerful and ready to trust a person again. During his antics, you can notice that he slightly places one hind leg inward - a remnant of the accident. Fortunately, Batorek doesn't know that "something is wrong" with him, so it doesn't bother him in any way. Batorka can be adopted alone, but you can also consider adoption together with another calm cat, with an approach focused on slowly building relationships between the cats. Before meeting Batorka, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with our adoption procedure:

Batorka można poznać w punkcie Ochota na Kota przy ul. Grójeckiej 79. Zawsze nie może się doczekać, aż ktoś go odwiedzi w salce. Gdy brakuje mu cierpliwości, stuka łapką w szybę, żeby koniecznie zwrócić na siebie uwagę. To nasz Batorek . Długo dochodził do siebie w kocim szpitalu. About Batorek

What life with Batorek looks like

Batorek is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Bladder issues, previous orthopedic surgery with slight mobility limitation in rear leg

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Batorek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Batorek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Batorek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Batorek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Batorek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Batorek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Batorek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
