Behemoth

Male · Senior · 14 years

Behemoth is a senior cat with a challenging past. He arrived at the shelter in a severely neglected condition, suffering from skin lesions that required treatment and careful attention. Fortunately, his condition has been steadily improving, and his skin lesions are healing nicely. Currently, Behemoth is staying at the cat hospital, where he’s undergoing a full diagnostic workup and gradually regaining his strength. The beginning was tough for him—he was withdrawn and cautious. But today, we can see a remarkable transformation. The little cat has become incredibly open, eagerly seeks human contact, and thoroughly enjoys being petted. He’s a real cuddlebug—calm, extremely friendly, and deeply people-oriented. He also responds well to the presence of other cats. Like many senior cats, Behemoth deals with age-related health issues. He takes medication for hypertension and supplements to help maintain proper urinary pH. He’ll need ongoing veterinary care and regular health monitoring, but with proper management, he can enjoy a comfortable life by the side of a caring guardian. Despite all his challenges, Behemoth is bravely fighting to get back to his best. We believe that nothing will help him more than finding his own forever home, where he can rest in peace, relish the warmth of human companionship, and fully embrace this new chapter of his life. We’re looking for a responsible, loving home for him—a place that will shower him with care and continue the recommended medical treatments. Behemoth deserves a place where he can spend his golden years in tranquility, comfort, and security. We invite you to fill out our pre-adoption questionnaire and bring it along when you visit the shelter. Before adopting, please make sure your home or apartment is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Please note: If you decide to adopt a cat or are considering adoption, be sure to bring a carrier or transport bag suitable for transporting cats to the shelter.

About Behemoth

What life with Behemoth looks like

Behemoth is a small senior cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Behemoth, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Behemoth?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Behemoth on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Behemoth if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Behemoth already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Behemoth isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Behemoth and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
