adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this dog now! Bela has found a home! His story: Some dogs look as if nature had used a lot of imagination when painting them: The little Bela is the perfect example! He looks very much like his pretty mom Mimi – except for one special feature: Bela looks as if he had stuck his snout into a pot of deep black ink. This charming look makes him a true one-of-a-kind that you simply have to fall in love with. Together with his mom and siblings Joey and Toffee, he landed in the public shelter of Bistrita. There, Bela shows his best side: He is unbelievably cute, through and through lovable, and greets everyone with friendliness. He enjoys every affection from people very much and shows himself to be absolutely uncomplicated when it comes to getting along with other dogs, whether that also applies to cats, we don't know. Bela is a little, lively fellow who is ready to conquer the world. Bela is an energetic young pup who is likely to stay small. He stands at the very beginning of his journey and wants to learn everything that goes into a happy dog life. As he has only known life in the shelter so far, the household basics are still new to him. House training, walking on a leash, and especially the patient learning of being alone are on his learning plan. He is looking for people who will accompany him with joy and consistency. Even though Bela is a little sunbeam, he will soon enter puberty. By the time the young fluffball tests his limits, a positive dog training class is exactly what is needed to turn the little charmer into a confident companion. Bela is eager to pack his bags and start his adventure "Arrival." Who will give this sweet "Ink-Snout" his permanent place in life? Bela travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with his EU pet passport to his family. After a positive But also a foster home would be a good start to a better future. A big thank you goes to Nadine, who as a namingsponsor gave the little Bela his identity! As of: 24.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 24.02.2026

About Bela

What life with Bela looks like

Bela is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
